The tour boasts $750,000 in cash prizes to give away to gaming divisions of Counter-Strike 1.6, Quake 4, Call of Duty 2 and many more. Area 51 Gaming Call of Duty 2 News
There have been many changes within the 51.CoD2 team since earlier this year. With the new season just around the corner and the announcement that crow, cross and criminal would be going inactive, it was clear there had to be some changes with the roster. With the departure of crow and criminal, Anox1a and Melkor took the leadership role together.

Area51 was invited to participate in the inaugural TGL-Professional season along with the top 16 teams in North America. Area51 was also going to be participating in CAL-Invite as well as CEVO. The beginning of the season started out rocky with a new roster having to play 5 matches a week. It was clear that this was not going to work. Area51 decided to drop CAL-Invite (along with the top teams in the game) because they wanted to play in leagues (such as CEVO and TGL) that could offer them money for all of their hard work.

The beginning of the season did not go well because of the little chemistry the new team had with one another. Since then, Area51 has worked hard and has finally turned things around. Area51 has won 11 out of the last 12 matches and is finally back to their winning ways. The current roster we have been using is as follows:

Wish us luck as we head into the second half of the season and playoffs!

Tournament has been cancelled.
This had a very poor turn out and very few teams even wanted to play the matches.
We will try again with the same prize money in CoD4 Modern War. Thank you to the few teams that tried to play in this tournament.
